What is Neurodivergence?
Many behaviors, symptoms, and diagnoses fall under the umbrella of “neurodivergence”; a term that refers to those who experience different brain functions and nervous system responses outside of what may be considered “typical”.
Some of these diagnoses include but are not limited to ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Autism, and PTSD.
Neurodivergent-affirming care means that we view neurodivergent individuals as a distinct brain style that is integral to the whole person and deserves to be understood and celebrated. The goal is not to change the individual, but rather to help support them in whatever way is needed to thrive. We will highlight your child’s strengths and also target their challenges through executive functioning skill building, improving self-regulation skills, and suggesting accommodations when needed.
